I will be posting a few photos from the expo on our Facebook page for you to have a look at and the lovely ladies who put on the expo have already posted some great ones. It was amazing to see how long the queue to get in was!

There were some fantastic prizes and raffles on the day and I look forward to attending the next one.

After some fantastic feedback from those helping out with our product testing, as at 1 June 2012 we have launched our new breastfeeding singlet, Snuggly Mamma. In the same style as Sporty, Snuggly Mamma is a wide necked singlet with a difference.

The top half of the front lifts up to make the maternity bra accessible without having to worry about leaving any spare skin bare in the cold months. Like our other merino tops we have kept the extra length so you can continue to purchase your normal size without worrying about your bump making the hem ride up too much. I would also like to note that we had one lovely lady try out a medium (when she would usually wear a small) and found that once her breasts started reducing in size the elastic around the front pulled a bit because the top was now too big for her – so again, probably best to stick to your usual size.

Sorry for not keeping up with the blog but it has been a busy few months! If you have any questions about the Snuggly Mamma (or any of our products) please feel free to email us directly. Additionally, keep in touch with us via our Facebook page.

Hadn’t realised there was a problem with requests getting stuck in junk mail but this has since been remedied and we are keeping an eye on it. Approximately 40 samples were sent out around NZ today… the overseas ones however will take a little longer as we hadn’t expected such an overwhelming response – Thanks by the way! It’s great to know people are looking through the website and getting interested in our products.

We look forward to you coming back to pick up some of our fantastic tops

We had a great turn out at the launch function on 7 July, thanks so much to everyone who could make it along! I know there were a number of people who wanted to come but had other commitments so hopefully our photos will give you a peak into the fun we had.

Yes, that’s right, we have some photos to show you! See for yourself on our Facebook page and we will add more soon. My fabulous friends doing the modelling got some pampering having their hair and makeup done and enjoying a glass of bubbles (or two…) before the show. We got some great feedback from people saying the girls absolutely blew them away.

A big thanks also goes out to Longi and the girls at Hardie Grainger Hair Studio and Tracey Wilson and co from Nutrimetics for bringing out the best in the girls, you guys did such an amazing job!

Hope you enjoy having a look through our pics and we look forward to bringing you more… especially as we add new products.

Where did StingRay Designs come from?
StingRay Designs was the brain-child of Samantha Ransley, a small town girl, brought up in Gisborne on the East Coast, who moved to Wellington for better job prospects.

Sam has been working for many years, mostly in office jobs, some involving a fair bit of travel. She never quite fit into the “corporate office-wear” box opting for cowl necks, off-the-shoulders, halters and wide v-necks. The problem with this, was trying to keep warm in the winter, not only in Wellington but travelling to the lower south island for work, while only having these types of tops and dresses. Normal thermals or merino tops currently out there always rode up from the waist, the sleeves weren’t quite long enough and the neck lines showed when trying to wear them underneath which, quite honestly, looked ridiculous.

After deciding she needed thermals or merino that could be worn underneath her clothing without being seen, Sam thought that perhaps other women would be keen for the same thing.

So here is your chance to see for yourself. We bring to you merino under wear, with those quirky, lower neck lines, made of 100% supersoft merino fabric and produced in a local Wellington factory. We hope you enjoy looking through our selection and that you find something to suit you – look hot without feeling the cold.
